More Than 7 Lakh BS4 Vehicles Are In Stock

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has said that around 7,20,000 BS4 vehicles are in stock with vehicle dealers across the country. In which 7 lakh two-wheelers, 12 thousand passengers and 8 thousand commercial vehicles are on sale.

FADA stated that the deadline to sell BS4 vehicles is very much in front whereas it may take a few months to finish such a large stock of vehicles.

Due to Coronavirus, the dealership and showroom have been closed, which has stopped the sale at all. Customers have postponed the purchase plans until April and May.

In order to extend the last date of sale of vehicles, FADA has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking time to increase the sales of BS4 vehicles till June 30.

BS6 emission regulations are coming into force from April 2020 after which the sale of BS4 vehicles in the country will become illegal. FADA said that if the decision of the Supreme Court does not come in favor, then the companies may have to suffer heavy losses.

FADA stated that many companies involved in the manufacture of components for vehicles do not have the capacity to withstand losses and maybe shut down.
