Hampton Roads, VA, March 28, 2024 –(PR.com)– Real estate enthusiasts, first-time home buyers, and community leaders and stakeholders are converging on the Chesapeake Conference Center, Delta Hotel (Chesapeake), and ODU Tri-Cities Center the week of April 7 for a dynamic series of events aimed at educating and empowering and minority business owners, fostering professional connections, enriching communities through education and networking opportunities, and clearing a path to home ownership among people of color.

Organized by the Hampton Roads Association of Real Estate Brokers and Virginia Housing and Community Development Corporation, this week of carefully crafted housing activities promises to be a cornerstone event for individuals and businesses engaged in the real estate sector.

Realtist Week 2024 will kick off on Monday, April 8 with a small business symposium tailored specifically for minority business enterprises (MBEs). This segment will provide invaluable insights, resources, and training to support the growth and success of MBEs in the region. The Symposium will be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center.

Following the symposium, attendees will have the chance to engage with real estate professionals and lenders at the Realtor Fair on Tuesday, April 9. This platform offers a unique opportunity for individuals to establish meaningful connections and explore collaborative opportunities within the real estate market. Mortgage lenders and real estate entities from across Hampton Roads will converge on the Chesapeake Conference Center in a full-day of one-on-one conversations and presentations on programs aimed at assisting individuals and families to secure their own home.

The highlight of Realtist Week 2024 will be a pancake breakfast featuring esteemed mayors from Chesapeake (Honorable Dr. Richard West), Newport News (Honorable Mr. Phillip Jones), Portsmouth (Honorable Mr. Shannon Glover), and Virginia Beach (Honorable Mr. Bobby Dyer). Attendees will have the privilege of hearing these leaders thoughts and discussions on their visions for affordable housing development in their respective cities, and providing valuable insights into future real estate trends and initiatives. The Mayors Pancake Breakfast is Wednesday, April 10 at the Chesapeake Conference Center.

Empowerment takes center stage with a seminar dedicated to women, focusing on impactful life hacks for managing family and career. Titled “She | Me | Her,” this event aims to equip women with practical strategies to thrive in both personal and professional spheres. Moderated by Wavy-TV news anchor Regina Mobley, a licensed real estate agent herself, the discussions will demonstrate the achievements of several local leaders (female) in real estate, housing, social services, politics, and more. She | Me | Her is Thursday, April 11 at the Chesapeake Conference Center.

As the day transitions into evening, real estate professionals across the region are invited to an after-hours event designed for networking and camaraderie. This exclusive gathering offers a relaxed environment for professionals to forge new connections and exchange ideas. Realtists After-Hours is Friday, April 12 at the Delta Hotel – Chesapeake.

Concluding Realtist Week 2024 is The Build Black Wealth Tour, a Community Day event open to all members of the community. One of 101 concurrent events happening across the U.S., attendees will experience a wide range of free workshops covering topics such as wealth building, home ownership, personal finance, credit management, personal development, tax matters, probate, and housing. These workshops aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources necessary to achieve financial stability, build wealth, and achieve housing security. The Building Black Wealth Tour is Saturday, April 13 at ODU Tri-Cities Center in Portsmouth.
